Cyril Class 2020

CYRIL - Congratulations to Raycee Morrow, the CHS Class of 2020 Valedictorian. She is the daughter of Amy and Brock McLemore and Mark Marrow. Her mother and maternal grandmother and great- grandfather are also Cyril graduates.

Wanting to help their local community, Cyril FFA Chapter members created a new "Food for Families" program that will provide free ground pork for families with students that could benefit from additional food. CYRIL - Presented with the ques- tion "What can we do to make our chapter better?" Cyril FFA members brainstormed and formulated a plan to feed those in need.

Cyril Elementary School Principal Tammy Cocheran took on the National Young Readers Week challenge Friday, Nov. 8, when she spent the day reading from the school's rooftop.

CYRIL - It's not often - if ever - students witness their principal spending the day reading on the school rooftop.

A hay bale fire was reported Sunday on County Road 1480, southwest of Cyril. No injuries were reported and no wild land engine was available to assist. Cyril Fire Chief Gerard Dodson urges everyone to remember the hazards in the winter wild land fire season.

CYRIL - A grass fire burned 39 acres of pasture land southwest of Cyril on Sunday, Nov. 10. Firefighters from Cyril, New Hope and Apache Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the location at 21122 County Road 1480, at 1:11 p.m.
