For the second year in a row, the Lawton Speedway will host the World of Outlaw Sprint cars on Friday, April 16.
A World of Outlaws Sprint Car is an open-wheel race car, which must weigh at least 1,400 pounds with the driver in the car. The 410-cubic inch engine is fueled by methanol, and produces approximately 900 horsepower.
What does all that mean?
It means that these cars absolutely fly around the race track.
The USRA Limited Modifieds will be the support class for the night and they will put on some exciting racing themselves.
The Outlaws will be rolling into town after running in Bristol, Tennessee. on Sunday, April 11. After they leave Lawton they will be headed to the world famous Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.
The World of Outlaws used to visit Lawton on a regular basis back in the ‘80s before moving on to other venues.
The Outlaws were back at the Lawton Speedway last year and they didn’t disappoint the fans.
So if you are needing something to do on a Friday, load up the car and come see these things fly.
As always, stay safe and healthy.
