ANADARKO - A first-degree murder charge - deliberate intent - was filed recently in the case of a Fletcher man who was shot and killed on Saturday, Nov. 16. John Paul Randy Williams-Ryan, 18, of Apache was charged with the criminal felony shows a Caddo County District Court record.

Information provided by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation states that the victim was 19-year-old Payden McCullar. According to a press release, Payden had been attending a party at a residence in the 15000 block of E. Comanche Caddo Line Road early Saturday morning when a verbal altercation occurred with Williams-Ryan, who lived at the residence. It is said that as Payden and another unidentified person left the residence in a vehicle, Williams-Ryan produced a gun and fired multiple shots into the vehicle. OSBI Public Information Officer Brook Arbeitman said at least one of those shots struck Payden, resulting in his death.

Williams-Ryan was booked into Caddo County jail on Nov. 16. Court record indicates that his $250,000 bond request with conditions was denied based on the crime charged. The crime is punishable by death, imprisonment for life, or imprison- ment for life without parole. A preliminary hearing conference is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19, at 9 a.m in the Caddo County District Court.
