Fletcher’s 2019 Annual Trunk or Treat was held on Halloween from 6 to 7 p.m. on the main street in Fletcher. The road was blocked off to allow Trunk or Treaters a safe Halloween experience. Kids and adults, alike, came dressed up to enjoy the nice weather and snag some sweet treats from local businesses. Churches set up to hand out candy from their trunks. Most donned only a light jacket. Some youngsters wore a long-sleeved shirt under their costume as an alternative to a jacket, allowing all to see their well-planned disguise.

Among those handing out sweets were members of Fletcher First Baptist Church who manned Bible-themed children’s games. The children earned candy as a reward for their participation. First National Bank of Fletcher also participated, passing out full-sized candy bars. The local fire department and EMS also gave children a special treat by having emergency vehicles on display at the celebration. But, candy was not the only treat. Fresh popcorn was also handed out and very popular with the little goblins who showed up to share in the fun!
