Playing their last non-district game against Tecumseh, the Owls were looking for a victory to carry some momentum into the District part of the season. The Owls and the Savages battled through a scoreless first quarter.

Elgin traveled to Anadarko and came home with a 55-41 win on Friday. Sept. 3. The Owls wasted no time on getting on the scoreboard when Matt Lund went 54 yards to put Elgin on top with 11:14 left in the first quarter.

Elgin traveled to Lawton to finish up their scrimmages as they took on the Eisenhower Eagles at Cameron. After a spirited scrimmage all focus turned to week one opponent the Anadarko Warriors.

The Owls will be looking to avenge last year's 48 - 14 season opening loss to Anadarko.
