Football is in full swing with District play just one week away.

Elgin will open District play at home when they welcome the Elk City Elks to the “Nest” on Friday, Sept. 24.

But football isn’t the only sport I want to talk about this week.

When the forecast first broke for Tuesday this week of mid-April there was snow in the forecast.

So I announce this to the DeSilver household and then have to show my phone to everyone, as know one believed me.

Constant achy joints, fingers and a back riddled with pain. Eight years ago, this was me. The aches never relented; they were simply restrained. I lived my life in a perpetual state of need — need of relief. So, I decided to do what I had never done before — submit. I gave in to the pain.
